June 2025: Casual Aged and Disability Support Worker 

About the role

CCA NSW is a busy, non-profit community organization, providing services to frail/aged and disability clients for over 60 years. We are currently looking for a passionate and experienced Aged and Disability Support Worker to support our clients on a day-to-day basis primarily in the Ryde/ Eastwood/ Hunters Hill areas.

This role is offered on a casual basis. You will provide support to elderly people and people with disability to continue living in their own homes while maintaining their independence and connection to the community, or in our own supported independent living home.

What does your new role look like?

Providing support and tailored care services in a professional and respectful manner according to each client’s care plan on day to day basis, such as:

  • Transporting and accompanying clients to appointments, leisure, and shopping trips.
  • Supporting clients in social support groups and individual services.
  • Meal preparation and serving.
  • Domestic Assistance, such as light housekeeping, changing linen, laundry, and ironing.
  • Supporting clients that are living or having respite in our SIL home.
  • Building and maintaining strong and effective relationships with clients and their carers.
  • Adherence to health and safety guidelines and policies to keep yourself and our customers safe.

About you

  • Minimum 12 months experience working in aged care or an industry relevant qualification, e.g. Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, Home and Community Care
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance – driving is part of the role
  • Flexible availability to work during weekdays and weekends or sleepover shifts
  • Able to obtain an NDIS worker check and police check
  • Able and confident to assist clients with exercises, manual handling, and transferring
  • Experienced in working with participants with behavioural challenges, non-verbal clients, familiar and confident in de-escalation of challenging behaviour
  • Comfortable with personal care including bathing, changing pads, toileting assistance
  • Open to long shifts – 7-10 hours and sleepover shifts
