Navigating aged care can be overwhelming, especially when you hear terms like Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and Home Care Package (HCP). What’s the difference, and which one suits you best?

CHSP is designed for those needing basic, entry-level support to stay safe and independent at home. It provides specific services like help with cleaning, meals, and social activities, ideal for short-term or occasional assistance.

HCP, on the other hand, offers more comprehensive, ongoing support for people with higher care needs. With four levels of care, it allows you to customize a complete plan, including personal care, nursing, and specialized therapies, as your needs evolve.

Both programs aim to help you remain independent, with CHSP as a starting point and HCP for longer-term, in-depth care.
